The Ion Paintball Gun For Exciting Paintball Games

By Benedict Perez

An ion paintball gun is handy when you want to make warfare games like speedball and woodsball exciting. If you do not have an ion paintball gun, you can subsitute a spyder paintball gun. Whether one is a novice just starting out or an expert who has experienced many memorable paintball "battles," you must accept the fact that warfare sports can be very addictive. The thrilling experiences and never-ending action they provide are likely to keep one coming back time and again. Speedball is considered to be an extreme sport, although its classification as such is controversial.

A typical game involves at least two opposing teams shooting at each other with balls of paint serving as 'bullets'. The paint balls are shot using the paintball gun. Though rules can sometimes be modified to suit the dynamics of the groups involved, the general rules of the game state that one is eliminated when they are struck by a paintball. The fact that the paint balls bursts on impact acts as evidence that the hit has indeed taken place. The main aim is for each team to eliminate as many members of the opposing team(s) and thereby emerge victorious. Woodsball is also similar to speedball but in this case, the game is normally played in a natural setting and hence the name.

Several rules must be followed to make sure that you and your teammates and opponents are safe while playing speedball. Protective gear is of paramount importance. You must always wear a mask to protect yourself. Although in theory paintballs are fairly harmless, not wearing protective clothing can leave you open to injury if a paintball hits your eyes or some other sensitive part of your body. Also, the paint that sprays out when a paintball bursts can work its way into your ears and other sensitive body openings. Make it a rule that you must never shoot at someone who is not wearing protective gear.

Using a spyder paintball or ion paintball gun is a skill that a person perfects over time. Make sure you are comfortable with the basic handling of a gun before you participate in any contest. The ion paintball gun is capable of firing at a rate of up to 17 paintballs per second when in semi-automatic mode and up to 10 paintballs per second when in automatic mode. This superb rate of fire is the gun's main advantage, but in addition to its superior firing capability, its lower price makes it one of the most popular paintball guns on the market. Its light weight makes it easy to carry and this is very important during a lengthy contest.

Ion paintball markers are powered by 9-volt batteries and are preferred because of their relatively long life. In terms of firing, a battery can last for as many as 15,000 shots. The gun's design provides easy access to the bolt and valve area and this is important for ease of cleaning. You should never let paint stay in the valve area, because over time it will cause corrosion. - 31499
